Do you want to stop sugar cravings before sugar cravings stop you? What is a sugar craving anyway? Most people like something sweet now and again. If it was not this way then the dessert people would be out of business. Sugar cravings are those desires that mean there might be a hormonal imbalance in the system. Some think it has something to do with an adrenal disorder.
If you find yourself very tired and in need of a nap because you have not had any sugar then you might have an imbalance in your system. If you have to have a nap because you just had a lot of sugar you might have an imbalance. If this is the case you should see your doctor about this. If you can get a referral to a dietitian or nutritionist this would be best.
Unfortunately, doctors get very little training in nutrition in medical school. They do get a lot of training in medication use though. Nutrition on the other hand helps prevent many diseases in the first place. But it is not given a lot of importance in medical school training.
In our medical system we wait for the disorder to happen and then we take pills to help mediate the symptoms. If you do have sugar cravings that are interfering with your life then see your doctor to make sure there is not a serious disorder already taking place. However, if you want to keep sugar cravings from getting to that life affecting state you can start eating better, healthier, and even more enjoyable meals.
If you wan to know what is really killing people off then go to your local super market. Go to the desserts section. Pick up some company made desserts and read off the label ingredients. See if you can remember how to spell some of the names of the chemicals. Try to even pronounce them. It is funny to do this but then realize this is what you are eating when you bite into these store bought products.
You see it is not the sugar cravings that is doing you in. It is all the man made ingredients. And here is a shock… Shortening is man made. It kind of sounds like home made. Shortening sounds like something grandma would use. Well she would use it if she wanted to use an oil that was originally produced to keep machine parts lubricated.
This was the perfect product because it stayed solid at room temperature. Then some wise guy decided to make pastry dough with the machine oil. And then he called it shortening, who knows why. And now you will find it in almost every store bought dessert.
And do not use shortening. Even butter is better for you than machine grease. The problem is not the sugar it is in the products you buy and eat to get your sugar fix.
Sugar Addiction is very real for many people and something that is hard to break. Too much sugar can cause to many health problems in the future, so it’s definitely not something you should shrug off. Stop Sugar Cravings and start losing weight.
