If you have, so far, lived your life on the diet you were raised on, it is entirely possible that you have gotten overweight. Most of the time, when people simply eat whatever they like best, their diets tend to have too many carbohydrates and too little protein. This is one of the reasons why people get fat.
If you know what’s good for you, you will do something your weight before it gets out of hand and it starts taking its toll from your health. Don’t even think about going on a crash diet and losing 20 pounds in one week. While it’s definitely possible, it’s not effective in the long run and I wouldn’t recommend it. What you need to do in order to learn how to lose weight fast and healthily, is the following:
1. You need to have a healthy weight loss diet. If you are not on a diet that has all the healthy nutrients you need, then you can forget about getting any real results. Your diet is the most important thing in your life. Without a healthy diet that intentionally gives you a daily caloric deficit, you will achieve nothing.
2. Get yourself on an exercise program. By exercising, you are boosting your metabolism and that is ofcourse exactly what you need in order to get real results. It will also reduce your cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, decrease your risk of disease, improve your mood, give you energy and many more health benefits.
3. Plenty of rest. When you are dieting and exercising at the same time and you keep this up for weeks on end, you are asking a lot from your body. Your body needs plenty of rest, or it will not be able to recover from all that effort. If you don’t get rest, you will not recover. And this means you will get no results.
This is basically all you need to do to get real results. Some people like to sneak in a few cookies or candy bars when they’re on a diet. That’s not a smart thing to do, because these are high calorie foods that will destroy your caloric deficit for that day. It will be a wasted day.
If only you could stick to all three guidelines for an extended period of time, you would be sure to see real results in very little time. The caloric deficit that comes from your diet will be the most important to your success. But don’t skip on the exercise, because it will help you achieve even better results!
Doing exercise will allow you to get at least twice the results you would have gotten without the exercise. Cardio training will increase your metabolism, making it easier for you to create a daily caloric deficit. Doing resistance training, or weight lifting, will allow you to hang on to your muscle tissue, which your body sorely needs to burn off the fat. Stick to the plan and you will surely succeed!
