I was very disappointed when I found out about the acai berry scam. It bothers me a great deal when unscrupulous supplement companies get greedy and destroy the reputation of something that could be so beneficial to so many people! A similar scam took place with wu yi tea.
With the state of the economy, our dollars have become even more important to us. We work hard, and though we want to do what we can to improve our health and avoid expensive doctor bills, we cannot afford to be scammed! How can you benefit from acai berry supplements without risking this? Make sure you are aware!
This is how the acai berry scam works. The acai berry supplement company offers a free trial with only the cost of shipping. Then, they use your credit card to charge future shipments because you inadvertently signed up for these auto-shipments when you agreed to receive the free trial. The information was probably there, but in fine print.
Next, they receive charges on their credit card for acai berry supplements that have yet to arrive. Some of the acai berry scams are not even shipping anything, just charging for more supplements!
Worse yet is the fact that when they realized what happened, they tried to cancel the auto shipments and get a reimbursement for the charges and the acai berry company placed them on hold forever and made it very difficult to cancel. A few of the companies even asked for the free acai berry supplements to be returned before they would reimburse the credit card charge. Of course, many of the customers had already used their free trial.
A rule of thumb would be to avoid free trials; however, there may be some free trial companies who are honest and who really do want to prove their product to you through a free trial. So, how do you tell the difference?
First, read the fine print. Secondly, and more importantly, CALL them! When you call, take down the person’s name (this often forces a more honest response), and verify several times that there will NOT be any more charges to your card or auto shipments of the acai berry supplements. If you get a positive response, the company is probably legit.
If there is no phone number, or if you are put on hold for a lengthy time to get a simple answer, the company is more than likely fraudulent!
Amazon sites and other reputable companies with backing from entities such as the Better Business Bureau are usually your best bet. The acai berry scams should not scare you away from the amazing benefits of acai berry supplements!
Acai berries are loaded with antioxidants which can help fight off illness and disease. The benefits of acai berries certainly outweigh the risks as long as you pay close attention to the acai supplement company and do your homework!
