Instinctively, dogs are born to eat a diet of raw meat, just like their wild cousin the wolf. Early dog ancestors to today’s domestic dog were well equipped predators.
Pretend releasing your dog into the wild. After a time, his predatory instinct would kick in and he would hunt, kill and consume his prey just to survive.
Some would argue that this is how dogs were meant to eat. Most dogs today are domesticated and their owners are not fully aware of their dietary needs. A dog’s diet should consist something more than just leftovers or dry dog food, but it should include raw meat.

The safety and effectiveness of dog food ingredients are regulated by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). New dog food does not usually have to get FDA approval before being sold.
If a new dog food contains ingredients that have not been previously established as safe, then the dog food may need FDA approval before being sold.
